I am from a small French-speaking town (Alma) two and a half hours north of Quebec City in Canada. I obtained my PhD in Second Language Acquisition at the University of Hawai 'i in 2007. I am now a Professor of Linguistics at at the University of Texas at El Paso. My research focuses on speech perception and spoken word recognition in bilinguals.
I have a six-year-old son that I love to death. In my free time, besides taking care of my son, I do cycling, running, strength training, and yoga, primarily through the Peloton platform (#CycleLinguist).
